Side Bar:

The New York City Public School League Championship is up for grabs again this 2015-16 season with Grand St Campus;Boys&Girls;Francis Lewis;Murry Bergtraum and defending Champions South Shore all in the hunt for the title. In the aftermath of the Murry Bergtraum dynasty and the villain caricature of coach Ed Grezinsky, the sensibility of the PSAL has changed tremendously. The Championship game has even been moved from Madison Square Garden to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Albany City Rocks travel club organization covers a remote demographic of prospects way up in obscure upstate New York, the same dynamic the New England Crusaders of Massachusetts and the Tree of Hope club from Washington State bring to the table. Nike dropped the ball when they failed to renew the clubs contract. However, the City Rocks program is in negotiation to secure an Under Armour deal along with Bill McDonough and his brand from Pennsylvania.

The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) is a ten team league in girls basketball consisting of schools from Maryland, Washington DC and Virginia. Returning champions Paul VI Catholic-(VA) should be the front-runner along with St Johns College-(DC), Our Lady of Good Counsel-(MD) and St Mary’s Ryken-(MD) in close pursuit. The WCAC is always full of talent, this season the top freshman prospect is Chole Chapman of Good Counsel-(MD) a 5’7 point-guard that has garnered most of her laurels from performing well at the USA Under-16 Trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
